Hot chocolate under the sea: More scuba diving in Iceland

In my previous blog, I talked about scuba diving between the continental tectonic plates in Iceland.  In response to that, I received a tip about another great Iceland dive, this one in Strytan.

Strytan is about 250 miles (400 km) north of Reykjavik. It is the only place in the world where you can scuba dive to hydrothermal vents.   Not enough for you?  These guys will collect the 175 degree F (79 C) water from the geothermal vents, bring it back to the boat, and make hot chocolate with it.  Do you need that?  Oh, yeah!

Now I have yet another reason to go to Iceland…Add to bucket list?  Check.

It is by far the best place I have been so far. Even though I went in the coldest month if their year with the shortest days… but I will go again in summer and experience bigger and better things

WOW. I would love to do this, I’m beyond jealous! Your blog is awesome! Just got back from a dive trip to Chuuk, which I thought was about as unique as it got until I saw this. Check out my blog if you’d like! 😉 Cheers from Guam. x

Thanks! I haven’t been to Iceland yet, but since I’ve discovered these great diving opportunities, it is absolutely on my list! I love your blog, by the way. I hadn’t heard of Chuuk, so I read through your post about it, as well as the others from Palau. It sounds amazing! I’ve been told that Palau should also be on my “must-dive” list, and you’ve just reaffirmed that for me!

At first, hot chocolate from a warm spring sounds not so good, but on second thought.. Tasty! Great post.
